But it is not in the ring that Stefano Vaglietti, Swiss super heavyweight amateur champion 1989 and 1991, ha taken his hardest blows. On the advice of so-called friends he began taking amphetamines to reduce excess weight, which led him into a vicious circle of dependency on hard drugs. After five years of decline, Vaglietti was on the canvas. But his passion for boxing proved stronger. He managed to overcome his addiction and trained like a man possessed to make a come-back.
